WholesomeSteph
I have the worst cystic acne on my jawline. I haven't had this in months. Perhaps it's because I'm close to that time of the month. Did anyone else experience worse skin in the first week of Whole30? Link to comment
Rara1982
Yup. Crazy pizza face right here and I'm also a moody bitch :-) Link to comment
Megs
I have the same problem right now (on day 16). And I usually have really, really clear skin. And it happened AFTER my period ended. I think (hope) it's just my body detoxing. Link to comment
Ann
I also have normally clear skin, but got a monster zit in the crook of my nose on about day 5. I'm on day 11 and it has already cleared up. Link to comment
Megan Claydon
acne is largely the results of diet and fluctuating hormones...and while I know it's frustrating to have this flare up, it is a sign that your body's hormones are adjusting. Stick with it and things should start to clear up towards the end of your whole 30. Link to comment
sarakinva
I normally get some acne during my cycle but I also broke out with some cystic acne along my jawline worse than I've ever had about a week into Whole30 (I am on day 16 today). Starting to clear up now a little. Hope that is the last time! I hate acne. Link to comment
WholesomeSteph
Thanks. Glad to know this is somewhat normal. My skin is usually very clear. The cystic bumps I have are still not noticeable but they hurt. I started this thread on day 5 but am currently on day 7. It seems to be getting better. Link to comment
fergie
For me, I also get breakouts when I'm losing fat. Fat stores lots of bad toxins and, for me, this usually results in a few breakouts as I burn the fat and the toxins leave my body. At least that's the closest explanation I have come to for me. Also the hormones. I had a hysterectomy at age 35 (11 years ago). I do not take HRT anymore (stopped it 7 years ago) and have found that works for me. I am super sensitive to hormone fluctuations and those would also cause breakouts. Glad to hear it is clearing up and I hope this helps someone a little bit! Link to comment
Kaleena
I had a breakout on the jawline (around the first week) and my skin just feels not as great. I'm on day 18 and haven't had any new pimples in about a week. Hopefully it will clear up for all of us! Link to comment
