PESTO?

So easy to make, I winged mine based on the Clothes Make the Girl recipe. You can use any nut, I've tried walnuts and macadamias, low and high garlic, extra virgin olive oil and mild olive oil. Freshest basil makes the taste :)

Pesto's great on everything, even salad :) It'll keep longer with an olive oil layer sealing the surface.

I made a bunch from a bumper crop of basil last summer. I didn't use nuts, so maybe pesto is the wrong name. Just used basil, garlic and olive oil. I froze it in little jars. It's great on fish. We had a spicy batch that I think is the result of the cayenne pepper I put around the garden to keep squirrels away. Some of the tomatoes also had a bite to them. Crazy things happen in my garden. I'm growing all kinds of squash and tomatoes that must have come from the compost because I didn't plant them.
