help for my dad with diabetes

Recommended Posts

Hello, My dad started the Whole 30 five days ago and has been doing great. He is a type 2 diabetic and has been dropping his insulin level a little every day. He is now down to 15 units (from 30) and his fasting blood sugar levels have been great each morning, right around 80. However this morning he told me that he has had swelling and tingling in his hands and feet ever since starting the Whole 30 and that it gets a little worse each day. It sounds to me like diabetic neuropathy, but shouldn't that be getting better not worse? It's not something he had a problem with before. Any ideas?

yes, it should be getting better if that's what it is. I'd definitely check in with the doc about the change in eating habits and the new symptom if it gets much worse.

It could be nothing, (my fingers are tingly right now, for example), but it's not worth the risk.
