Mistie Gleason Cottrill
My whole family is sick and my husband and I are on day 24 I am not worried about the food but I am starting to feel the ache of a fever and both kids are running fevers. What can I take? Tylenol? Advil? Motrin? I will have to take something if I get a fever.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 24, 2013 I prefer Tylenol, but you can take anything during a Whole30.
praxisproject
Coconut water is good with a fever too. It won't get rid of it, but it replaces electrolytes. I'd take extra magnesium too.
Mistie Gleason Cottrill
Thanks just got my natural calm today, getting ready to drink some! What are the feelings on taking Colloidal Silver? Also doing eucalyptus essential oils on our chests and in humidifiers. Drinking chicken broth Hot Tea What else can we do, we have bronchitis. chrissybaby11
In the book it says no Tylenol, Advil, it says to take "good Old Aspirin" which not really sure what the difference is but that's what it says. Hope you don't get it and everyone feels better soon!
praxisproject
For the sake of your health, never consume colloidal silver. Aside from irreversably looking like a smurf, it's a metal that does not perform a bodily function, don't ingest it. It can cause seizures and neurological damage, kidney damage and can seriously interfere with other medications. Also, due to the way it's manufactured (any idiot can make it with a small machine in the home) it's often contaminated with nasty germs. Absolutely do not take it without discussing it with your GP. Additionally it's banned for human consumption in many countries. Additionally, one of the principals of Whole30 and Whole9 is do not consume toxic things. Colloidal Silver is toxic. http://nccam.nih.gov/health/silver http://www.livestrong.com/article/117764-dangers-colloidal-silver/ http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/PhonyAds/silverad.html
praxisproject
Tea Tree Oil and Eucalyptus Oil are both antibacterial, but read safety instructions on ingestion/application as both have limitations based on the preparation concentration. Jan162013
I am on Day 9. I think I am beginning to get sick as well. My oldest has a high fever...thinking virus right now...and I may be next. She hasn't wanted to eat all day. If I go that route, what are my best food/drink choices while I am sick? Headache and chills already beginning. praxisproject
Sweet potato is a good starch. If you have trouble with fats, stick with olive oil, it's pretty gentle. Coconut water (pure, no sugar additives) is good if you've got that dehydrated yukky feeling. Anyone with stomach issues, be aware there's a nasty virus spreading around from the UK (it's in the news), the vomit is highly contagious. See a doc if it seems unusual. LibLady
Good old (compliant) chicken broth is always good for colds and upset tummies. Bone broth would be even better if you could make some.
