Sausalito and San Fran

NLK

Recommended Posts

Hi All -

I'm going to be in Sausalito for a week followed up by a few days across the bridge in San Fran.

I would love some recommendations on restaurants, grocery stores or farmers markets?!

Thanks - N

There are so many great options! Go to "fish" in Sausalito. They have local sustainable food and you can eat on a dock on the water! In San Francisco, go to the ferry building and get a burger topped with a fried egg and guacamole at Prather ranch. If you go there on a Saturday you'll see out world famous farmers market where you can also get a whole or half roasted organic free range chicken.

Also Roam has grass fed burgers that are yummy.

If you wanna splurge a little locavore has a lot of paleo friendly food (including a whole pig)

AWESOME! Looks like Fish is super close to where we are staying and Locavore looks perfect.

That covers two nights just need like 10 more ;-)

Thanks - I really hope I get a chance to hit the farmers market

Yes you HAVE TO GO TO Roam in San Fran!

When my husband and I visited San Fran a few months ago we ate at Roam and Momma's. Best decisions ever.

Momma's is the best breakfast I have ever had. Their dungeness crab omelet with avocado was to die for! Go early, line will be out the door by 9:30.

Roam is completely local and grass-fed. Doesn't get any better than this when it comes to burgers.

The Ferry Farmer's Market is also a must. Try to find 405 Meats while you are there.

Have fun!

Love it!

Any Sausalito Grocery store recommendations? I'm 8 days in Sausalito with a house full of sailors - I can't go too over the top expensive since I'll be provisioning for everyone but I would like the option for higher quality plus pick up good stuff on my own dime.

You two just got me super excited - pathetic that crab omelet and burgers motivates a girl!

  • 4 weeks later...

Any recommendations for Napa area? There's a trader joe's and whole foods super close to my hotel and I've looked at a few menus that I can try to make compliant, but just looking in case anyone has suggestions as well :)
