DadsSpecialT
Hi - new to the program, but haven't started yet. Just wondering if a little bit of Daiya can be used for flavor or thickening? I think all the ingredients are ok, but I might have missed something...thank you!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 12, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 12, 2012 No for two reasons. One is that Daiya is basically fake cheese and during a Whole30 you are asked to eat real, whole foods and not to "paleo-fy" your old diet. Two is that pea protein is listed as an ingredient and legumes (peas) are not Whole30-compliant.
DadsSpecialT
Sorry, I missed the legumes part somehow. Thank you.
DadsSpecialT
Why does it say that sugar snap peas and snow peas are ok?
Robin Strathdee
DadsSpecialT - The reason those two are allowed is because there is more pod than there is bean involved. The issue lies with the mature legume, not necessarily the vegetable matter that encases it. Does that help?
