Angela Zaleski King
I am really looking forward to starting tomorrow, anyone have any tips for easy foods that have helped?
MrsStick
Pre-prep of whatever you're making. It'll make your life SO MUCH easier when you're tired after work and don't. want. to. cook. at. all. Like me right now! I do have a few things in my meal plan to cook (sauce for my pulled pork, roast a few more sweet potatoes to mash up, taco meat for taco salads) but I have food for NOW. And shrimp cakes, fruity pico de gallo, and a roasted veggie salad will be perfect!
Kim Minder
I agree with MrsStick. I'm only on day 5 and haven't taken the time yet to pre-prep too many things. I have however pre-prepped veggies and that has come in so handy when I'm starving and am making my meal. It's nice to be eating some bell peppers as I'm cooking. I'm planning today to make something in my slow cooker so I can have a meal ready to go when I need it. The only easy food I've been doing are eggs. I love eggs and I've been eating them in the mornings and sometimes for lunch with avocados....yummy!! Wish I could be more help on quick easy foods but I'm still learning myself. chigalpaleo
I started today as well and spending some time prepping yesterday has been huge! I'm keeping a Whole30 blog as well as posting on here if you have any interest in following! http://www.chigalpaleo.blogspot.com/
Kittyglampants
I also started yesterday! Planning and prepping is definitely the key. My husband and I had been "practicing" eating W30 meals for the last few weeks for dinner. It just took more planning and prepping to get compliant meals in for breakfast and lunches for this week. For us, the biggest timesaver is to make bigger portions for dinner and take leftovers for lunch to work the next day.
DeAnne
The best pre-planning, pre-prep strategy I've found is to buy a big thing of chicken breasts, throw 'em in a 9x11 baking dish, drizzle with fat, spices, and maybe some broth. Bake at 400 for 45-60. Then I have a protein staple that lasts most of the week (supplemented with other things). It can be topper for salads or paired with veggies & zapped in the microwave. I love fancier ways to prep chicken but I just don't have the time. This is a big volume of food for little work. You could also use a crockpot if you wanted. TheDeebs
I started on Monday as well! My husband and I have been doing paleo for the last 3 weeks during the week to ease into it and now we are very serious! There is no cheating in sight! We had a lot of company over the weekend so I didn't get to prep as much as I'd like, so looks like more work tonight! I've found some really great ideas on here already, what an awesome forum! Looking forward to completeing this thing with you guys!!!
