Brad Hefta-Gaub
We had a family dinner Sunday night at Buca di Beppo. It was the first "family dinner out" on my Whole30. I checked the menu ahead of time and picked out a couple items I hoped would be Whole30 compatible. Then I called the restaurant to double check ingredients. The hostess actually put the "Head Chef" on the phone and he walked through the ingredients of the dishes I was considering. The bad news is their Marinara sauce has sugar in it... the good news is, they were willing to prepare a couple dishes which would normally have marinara with just some chopped up and sautéed tomatoes for me. I ended up having the Green Salad (hold the dressing, EVOO and Vinegar instead), Steamed Mussels (no marinara, no butter/wine, just steamed), Sausage & Peppers (which normally also has marinara, but they just did tomatoes for me), and the Green Beans sautéed in olive oil and lemon juice. And some San Pellegrino to drink! The staff was super helpful and friendly.
