Nuts

Recommended Posts

I just finished my 3rd Whole30, and while I was going through it, I thought I noticed something different with nuts that were considered compliant. When I did my first one over a year ago, I thought that there was one nut other than peanuts that was not allowed, and I could have sworn those were cashews. Can anyone confirm this?

The reason peanuts are out is that they are legumes. All nuts are okay, but some are better and some are worse for you. The three best choices for nuts are macadamias, hazelnuts, and cashews. See It Starts With Food for more details.

Early versions of the Whole30 Success Guide did not list cashews as a best choice, but that changed during the research and writing of ISWF.
