Taleena Ratliff
Are there any concerns I should be worried about when doing Whole 30 while breastfeeding. I have never had supply issues, and plan to let my son self-wean, so I would really hate to have my supply tank and have no choice but to wean him before he is ready! TIA!! Melissa Urban
Calories, hydration, demand. That's really the bulk of maintaining milk supply, although there are smaller things that can also influence supply (like latching issues). Ensure you're eating enough, even if it means sipping on a can of coconut milk throughout the day. Make sure you're really well hydrated. And make sure you're feeding/pumping enough to maintain your normal supply, and you should be just fine. There's a nice little testimonial on our site and in our book from an OB/GYN who thinks the Whole30 is perfect for BF'ing moms. Best, Melissa
