Farah Lane
My daughter's birthday is this weekend and would like me to bake paleo cupcakes, however, I cannot find Palm Shortening in either of the two stores that would possibly carry it in our town. Is there something else I can substitute for this? Last minute on this!! Poor planning on my part!! Thank you!!!
[email protected]
I just made a cream cheese frosting for my husband's birthday cupcakes (without any actual cream cheese) that turned out really good (recipe and pictures here). You could try using coconut oil in your recipe.
SpinSpin
i found the palm shortening here in the natural food section of my regular store--could that possibly be an option for you? Although the coconut oil itself may work.
GLC1968
Coconut oil works but use the cold pressed refined version unless you want the coconut flavor. I would bet the clarified butter would work too.
