Niffer
I had my first dining out experience last night and I studied the menu like you wouldn't believe. Weighed all my options. What to have removed. What to have in place...and I still failed. I ordered a skirt steak salad w/o the blue cheese and shoestring potatoes and added avacado (it also had some other veggies). It came with balsamic vinaigrette. I saw that and just instantly thought oil and vinegar and figured I was safe. I know what a vinaigrette is! And the kicker is, I ALWAYS ask for the dressing on the side but I think I was so focused on everything else that I was off my game. So needless to say I'm devouring the delicious salad since I was so hungry and all of a sudden I realize "hey, this tastes sweet" and I've realized what I've done. So I'm guessing that's why my intestines are in turmoil today... So here I am on day 1 again. Ugh! Live and learn
AmyS
I'm not a moderator, but I've heard them say you do not have to restart for that. You did your due diligence, and got sugared anyway. (If you prefer to restart, you can, but you don't have to.)
Snicci
Rather than thinking of it as Day 1, you could consider it Day 18 of your Whole47!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted February 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 6, 2013 AmyS is right. Your experience with sugar in a dressing can be treated as a learning experience. People who are very sensitive to sugar might need to restart, but the circumstances and amount you ate suggest you could just continue. My guess is that your intestinal disturbance is frustration and not a sugar reaction.
Niffer
That's wonderful to hear! I was planning on doing a whole40 anyway, so I will have some extra days in there. Thank you!
