Anham Mahna
Hi all! I'm on Day 3 of my first Whole30 and while I'm starting to feel the tiredness, I'm still super excited to see thing through! I did want to ask, though: recently my doctor said I have a Vit D deficiency, and she prescribed 50,000 unites of Vit D weekly. The pills have soybean oil. Should I take them? They're tiny, but i don't want want to mess up my Whole30. But I don't want to be Vit D deficient either...
missmary
Vitamin D is pretty important, and the Whole30 rules exempt any prescribed medicine. BUT, I was able to find vitamin D in a capsule with olive oil (no soy). Maybe you can too?
Kirsteen
Yep, no one on the W30 will tell you to stop taking anything your doctor has prescribed. As Missmary says it is possible to get them without soy oil so maybe next time you see your doc you could ask about that. For instance I was once prescribed medication which contained aspartame which i really don't like so when I pointed this out to my doc, although he didn't see anything wrong with it, he changed it to an unflavoured, unsweetened brand. But the bottom line, if your doc says you need it, keep taking it. Good luck
