LanceM71
I'm 16 days into my Whole30, and just cooked my first sweet potatoes yesterday. The ones I cooked were the white variety, and were delicious. However, I wanted to know if there's a significant nutritional difference between the orange and white variety? From what I understand, the orange ones are often called yams, even though they're technically still sweet potatoes, and they also contain more vitamin A and beta-carotene than the white variety. Is this correct? If so, are the white ones still Whole30 compliant?
Susan W
From what I understand from my fav produce guy, the white ones are sweet potatoes and the orange ones are Garnet yams. The orange in the garnets tell me that they have more beta carotene, but I wouldn't worry about that. I think you are fine either way.
