Chop up some jicama, oranges, grapefruit, mango... whatever you have (although I suspect apples or bananas might taste a bit odd). Cut the peels off the citrus, the chop them into bits, allowing them to get all juicy in your mixture. Squeeze a couple of lemons into the mix, along with some oranges, if you've got them. Add some ground chili and salt, mix, and YUM! I just had some (minus the mango). This is how California Mexicans enjoy their fruit. This also goes REALLY well with watermelon (sandia). MrsStick Posted February 13, 2013 Share Posted February 13, 2013 I did a more delicate version of a pico/fruta sort of thing with: -minced pineapple -minced honeydew melon -minced red onion -crushed garlic -(was supposed to use) jalapeno -lime juice It was delicious on top of my shrimp cakes I had made it to accompany!
