mary-t
This may be TMI, but last month (during my Whole 30), my period was kind of a bear. Cravings, fatigue, wanting to eat all day, cramps, some over-emotional reactions, etc. This month (now close to Day 50), NOTHING. A bit of an extra appetite. No fatigue, no cramps, no snarling. It actually surprised me when it arrived. I feel like I'm 19 again. Anyone else celebrating this? Link to comment
Anham Mahna
Im REALLY looking forward to this! I started my Whole30 on Day one of my period. So i had the usual symptoms. But im looking forwrad to seeing how it is the net time! This gives me hope! Congrats! Link to comment
mary-t
I hope it happens for you too, Anham. I'm hoping it's the beginning of a permanent trend for me too. Link to comment
TrayS
I wish I could say W30 had the same effect on my period. Instead, I had wildly fluctuating temps beginning right around the same time as W30 (I started on CD7) and lasting until about Day 23 of my W30 (CD 30), not to mention the worst ovulation pain I've ever had and for three weeks in a row because my body was apparently really confused, and my ovulation was 3-4 weeks late (which is awesome when you actually want to get pregnant). *sigh* I'm guessing something else might be going on too, but perhaps I should time my next W30 post-ovulation so things may not get so screwed up. Can you tell I'm frustrated? Link to comment
Karen
TrayS, ovulation is always delayed for me, too, whenever I start a Whole30. I'm on day 45 and am on cycle day 35 and am JUST starting to get some signs that I'm close. My temps were all over the place for a while and are just starting to level out and look somewhat normal in the past 10 days or so. Fortunately, I find it only lasts for 1 cycle. It'll get better! TrayS
Thanks Karen, I hope so, my concern is that I wasn't eating that different before my Jan W30, so possibly this is what I can expect every time I clean it up for a period of time. Frustrating! Link to comment
Karen
Honestly, a Whole30 isn't that much different than my normal diet, either, but it still somehow manages to throw things for a loop... Good luck! Link to comment
mary-t
Okay, so I spoke too soon. This month I had horrible PMS symptoms for over two weeks. So, either last month was a one-time gift (please, let it not be so!) or the PMS will be horrible if I have a food reaction at a crucial time (as I tested eggs and nuts). Anyway, the magic is over for now. Link to comment
Carlaccini
I have noted that the whole 30 has completed disappated my PMS - I mean totally gone! I used to have week to 10 days of severe PMS - mood swings, cramping breasts hurting, migrianes the whole gamut. The only thing whole 30 eating has done is made them steady and slighty more heavy. (i know TMI) But It's finished faster. I will take this new 4 day period to my old 7 day one any day! Link to comment

One of my hoped for side effects I am aiming for with the wh30 is to get mine back down to regular flow 4 day periods (like I used to have before I went on birth control) instead of the 7 day to 10+ days it has been.
