toronto416
Some recipes call for a 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla extract - is this okay? How about if it's getting heated (wont' the alcohol evaporate)? My vanilla extract is organic.
EmilyB456
If it has any alcohol in it, it's out. Rules are rules! Alcohol doesn't 100% evaporate. Maybe use a vanilla bean if you need the flavor? Good luck!
Kirsteen
As Emily says, nothing with alcohol. I got powdered vanilla, just the pure vanilla pods ground down, no sugar or anything added. Renegade Health sells it in the US and Funky Raw in the UK. It's expensive but a little goes a long way, it lasts for ages.
Michaela Elmore Cogswell
I've also seen the powdered vanilla on Amazon. When I decided that I need to buy some, it will probably be this brand: http://www.amazon.com/Bakto-Flavors-Ground-Vanilla-Beans/dp/B002C98W4S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1360984079&sr=8-4&keywords=vanilla+powder I like the fact that you can see the 100% ground vanilla bean right on the label.
