Bridget McNeill
Hi, my name is Bridget. I am 41 and the mother of 4 boys. They are 23, 17, 17, and 13. I am the sole Whole 30-er in my house so there are no-no foods all around. I have been CrossFitting for one year now and have seen great improvements but am ready for more. I don't have any health problems other than low back pain. Have been trying to ease into Paleo for over 6 months decided it is time to jump in with both feet. I work part-time and spend most of my days on the road taking kids from one place to another. My biggest triggers are when I am alone at the house while everyone else is working or in school. I am sure it is boredom. All this Valentine's Day chocolate is driving me crazy. I am going to make the kids hide it when they wake up!!! I miss sweetening my coffee but I guess it is okay with just Almond Milk(unsweetened, of course) in it. I had a CrossFit friend who was supposed to start with me, but she bailed. I would love to have an accountability partner, but don't know anyone who is doing this and not close to anyone but my trainer who has already done it. So, anyone want to buddy up? ereiam
Hi Bridget - I would love to buddy up! This is my 3rd W30. My first was great, but I fell off the track on day 23 this last time. It's time to gear up again. I am 44 years old and also have four children, a son, 16, daughters, 15, 13, 11. I work full time as a teacher and am already looking forward to summer! I'm starting today (Feb 16th). When are you starting?
art cabana jojo
Hi bridget... and ereiam.... i would love to be your buddy! i started yesterday... so today is Day 2 for me... i am 51 years old and have two sons both are all grown up... I work as a stewardess... (i prefer that to flight attendant... sounds less militant) but currently am off work rehabbing a rotator cuff surgery.... so i completely understand your boredom eating at home... i found myself grazing constantly... when i am working i usually bring most of my meals from home... so i was not tempted to buy food and my choices were already made from home when i was full and getting ready to go to work... not bored and wanting to nosh on anything. I have been eating pretty much paleo for 18 months or more... not super orthodox though... since i have been off work i have gained 11.8 pounds... ouch... and it's because my sister was diagnosed with celiacs and had to go gluten free completely and she has been telling me all about what is and isn't gluten free... m&ms are gluten free... and i have been experimenting paleofying muffins and cookies and pancakes oh my.... THIS HAD TO STOP... i should never have shifted my focus away from just eating good clean food... i like Michael Pollan's food rule... "eat real food, mostly plants, not too much".... SO i jumped in to this with both feet to get me back on MY track and what my food choices should look like. good luck with day one and i look forward to hearing more about your journey and keeping us motivated and encouraged! AJ10
I'm in! I just finished a whole 44 last Saturday. My first successful 30 and then some:) I've off roaded a bit this week but today my emotions landed in an all out binge-yes the chocolate then coke then pizza- 5 pieces! In the past id keep going till I felt miserable and gain 10 pounds. This time- I really want to jump back on now! I'm 39, 2 children and a hubby. All non whole 30 or Paleo. Although I have really tried to implement more protein and veggies and less standard carbs. Turning 40 in March and not really excited about it😮 would love to be in the best shape turning this milestone so I am confident, happy and feel energized! I work I guess part time, m-th although i feel like its full time. I started crossfit this January and my goal is to go once a week. I also am shooting for 2-3 runs per week and one small crossfit wo at home. Registered for a 1/2 marathon April. I am hoping I can hang on with you all and really stick to it. I've tried to start a couple of times this week. Hopefully I just needed a good feel like crap meal Audrey
