MonaLisaSmile
I'm half way through my first Whole30. I have a work breakfast coming up and I'm trying to figure out what to order. Everything on the menu has some sort of cheese or bread component to it except an omelet with roasted veggies or a grilled steak and eggs. Of the two which is the best option? Susan W
I say grilled steak and eggs. Just make sure the eggs are whole eggs and not some egg substitute or eggs mixed with pancake batter (seriously, they do that to make them fluffy). Ask for over easy or over medium eggs so they have to use whole eggs. In situations like that, you will probably also get hash browns or toast. I can easily push those aside but if it's too much temptation, maybe ask them not to bring them to you.
MonaLisaSmile
What about fats it could be cooked in? What should I ask for?
Susan W
They probably use canola oil which is not banned on W30 but you could request that they cook it in olive oil.
TracyP
Actually I would think the eggs and veggies is a better choice, just because it gets you closer to the meal template. The oil they cook it in might be an issue. Can you ask for poached eggs?
