specific carbohydrate diet

How does the Whole 30 diet compare with the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. My son and I both have autoimmune diseases and the diet that is most researched and recommended for anti-inflammation is the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. At first glance it looks very similar, however, some forms of dairy are allowed and some veges (like sweet potatos are not). Just wondering if anyone has any experience.

I think peanuts and some legumes are allowed on the SCD too, which are not allowed on a Whole30 due to their anti-nutrient properties. I think since the Whole30 is more restrictive on some of these things, I would do the W30 first, then slowly reintroduce foods that are allowed on the SCD to see how they work in your system. As for the sweet potato part, that's your call how you want to handle it, but it seems more people do well with sweet potato than with a lot of fruit on these boards.
