Beef, variety

Ok, I started reading for the interesting yak/ goat discussion and kept reading for the corny jokes. It's very hard to laugh hysterically and type on the tiny keyboard for my iPad. Just saying.

I hate to turn the conversation back to the mundane, but I've resisted buying goat because I have no idea how they are raised and the quality of the meat and it's not easy to convey this at the middle eastern market. I'm struggling overall with my choice of meats as I try to purchase grass fed but the variety is lacking for what I can afford.

Does anyone have any resources for finding out where goat meat in the US might be coming from and whether it's a good addition? I've googled but not found any real sources yet.
