Toby Boylan
Hello, we have been living the Primal life for over a year now, and recently have begun juicing organic fruits and veggies. We are about to begin a Whole30, but I've read in the forum that fruit juices are a no-no except when used sparingly as a sweetener. Is this the case? If so would vegetable juices be an acceptable quick breakfast? (cabbage, carrot, celery, beet)
Moluv
Sure! As long as the juice is still INSIDE the vegetable, on a plate next to some protein and with a healthy dose of fat.
Toby Boylan
so a glass of juiced veggies (pulp removed) would not qualify as "compliant"?
Kirsteen
No I'm afraid not, W30 is all about eating good food. The meal template http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf sets it out pretty clearly. Drinking your food is not nearly as satiating, also the body handles liquids differently from solids. Meal-Planning Template:
Susan W
Sure! As long as the juice is still INSIDE the vegetable, on a plate next to some protein and with a healthy dose of fat. Moluv, when I first saw your "sure", I thought you had lost your ever lovin mind. :0)
Robin Strathdee
Toby- I'll clarify a bit here. A glass of blended (fiber, pulp, etc) veggie juice along WITH protein and fat that you chew is fine if you need to get some extra veggies in. However, we always prefer that you chew your food
