Lewis Van Tassel
I have a question about cross-contamination as it pertains to the food we choose. I was at Trader Joes the other day (Love that place) and reading the label on their Organic Free Range Chicken Broth. As I read through the ingredients it appeared everything seemed fine, but then I got to the very bottom and noticed a statement that raised a question. I can't remember the exact statement, but it went something like this: "This product was processed using equipment that may have also been used to process soy, wheat, etc." I can't remember the specific other products it listed (soy was definitely one of them). So my question is this... is it safe to eat something that, though it does not contain specific unapproved ingredients, may have been processed on equipment that processed those ingredients??? Thanks! Lewis
Kirsteen
Yes it's fine unless you really are allergic to something. This is more keeping themselves right legally in case someone has a severe allergy, it's to avoid being sued.
