ginamc28
This is my first whole30, I had a handover feel the first 2-3 days, but felt great the 4th, so great that on day 5 my husband joined me. I am now on day 17, and he is on day 13. My only great day was day 4. He is doing great, his pain is slowing going away and he is getting more energy, me on the other hand, I can barley function! I am so tired! I keep waiting for something to kick in. I also am fully breastfeeding a 4 month old, so I am not sure if that is part of it. Also the extra fats, which I know are good for me are giving my stomach a hard time, maybe because I am missing my gallblatter? Any tips? Please tell me it gets better! Kirsteen
Ok, first off, I don't have any experience of W30 while breastfeeding but i am sure that is a big part of it. In the book Melissa says you probably need an extra meal, so are you getting enough food? Without knowing what you're eating, it's hard to offer any advice. Just make sure you get enough, follow the meal template, make sure there's enough protein and starchy veg for energy, sweet potato, squash, plantains etc. As to fats without a gallbladder, are you using coconut oil. I've read that the fats in coconut don't need bile from the gallbladder, they're processed directly by the liver so these may be easier for you. apart from cooking with the oil, Melissa suggest sipping from a can of coconut milk. If that doesn't appeal what about a spoonful of coconut manna, that's delicious and would help you keep up your fat intake. With a 4 month old baby, I wouldn't dare ask how much sleep you're getting. I remember it as a time of total exhaustion, fixating on when I could next close my eyes and I'd have literally killed anyone crass enough to tell me my problem was lack of sleep, no sh*t Sherlock! Seriously, I totally admire you, I wish I'd known about W30 when my kids were little (they're adults now and it's too late for them). I truly believe you're doing the best thing possible not only for yourself but your baby too. If you have time, I know it's another precious commodity at that stage, there's quite a lot of posts on breastfeeding in the pregnant and breastfeeding section and in the medical conditions section there's quite a few threads on lack of gall bladder. I'm sure you'll find lots of support there. Don't be afraid to post any more questions or even just rant, we're all rooting for you. You can do this, and it will get better. I wish you all the very best, good luck
