nordiclg
So, I'm on day 28 and for about the last week I've been feeling discouraged. I feel worse than much of the time before Whole30. I know my body has changed, which is great. I can fit into pants that I couldn't before. That is awesome, but my belly and low back are very achey and I've been sneezing excessively. In the past I'd get the achey, sneezing days occassionally but they seem to be so frequent lately. I haven't eaten out much, kind of afraid of going off the plan. Thursday night we went to a Greek place. I got what seemed like the safest bet, Lemon Chicken, with grilled vegetables (onions, red peppers, zucchini.) Within 30 min. after eating I felt nauseated and lightheaded, the next day I couldn't stop sneezing. I finally took a couple of Benadryll and went to bed, had to do that last night too. I'm taking HCL with Pepsin, and just read about taking more, so I'll try that I guess. It's just hard to know what is working and what isn't. It's hard to keep eating well when I feel rotten. But I have done ok, so that's something. I know I'm allergic to avocado, maybe eating clean has made me more sensitive to the cross-reaticive foods like bell peppers and bananas? Moluv
I noticed once I took the major irritants out that I was having reactions to subtle irritants- w30 approved things like nuts, coffee, fibrous veggies, FODMAPS and citrus. It was probably around the month mark. I've been following the IBS protocol with low FODMAPS and feel so much better. I think finding out sensitivities is a huge gift- may be more of a pain to eliminate more foods, but for me I just want to know what to eat/ what not to eat for MY body. nordiclg
Thanks for the reply. It helps to just know someone else has experienced something similar. I'll try getting rid of eggs and nuts and see how that goes. It would be nice to know exactly which foods really bother me. It seems like I've tried to figure it out so many times, but my reactions (except with avocado) are so delayed it's tricky.
Moluv
Well just think of it this way- if you remove all POTENTIAL irritants (based on known irritants of other people) and then reintroduce in a controlled fashion you WILL be able to tell. I am shocked by how much I continue to heal and improve on a pared down diet- I never would have guessed eggs, citrus, etc could be so problematic. Flynn
It may also be seasonal allergies that have nothing to do with food...they're really bad for so many people right now!
