shasha56
I am on day 19 and just realized there is dextrose in my sea salt, microcrystalline cellulose in my supplements and the chicken breast at subway is non-compliant. Do I have to start all over?? What a bummer.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted March 16, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 16, 2013 The chicken at Subway ruins a Whole30. Here is a pdf of the ingredients in the chicken at Subways in the USA: http://www.subway.co...Ingredients.pdf Here is a pdf of the ingredients in the chicken at Subways in Australia: http://www.subway.co...205.10.2012.pdf The stuff is really disgusting. It is a reminder that our world is full of food-like products and not real food. After thinking about it for a long time, I just would not worry about the dextrose in your salt. It is there to serve as a binder for the iodine that has been added. Personally, I take an iodine supplement and eat seaweed and don't need to use iodized salt. I don't think there is a problem with the cellulose.
AmyS
Woah. Tom. That entire Subway ingredient list is SCARY. I had NOOOO idea. I'm really really shocked. They market themselves as a healthy alternative to fast food. Wow.

CarolinaJ85
I figured it would not be compliant so I have avoided Subway- but seriously one of the biggest things I have learned during Whole30 is that there is sugar in everything! Grrrr- why does chicken need sugar?? Gross.

Patrick Proulx
At subway, if you absolutely need to go, it seems the best choice is tuna salad in a salad. The mayo is non-Whole30 compliant, but I mean post-Whole30, if you need to eat at Subway. Everything else has so much garbage in it. During the Whole30, there probably isn't much you can do. It's times like these I'm glad I'm experienced in intermittent fasting. If I have no compliant choices, I'll just wait until I do.
