dianavuong
I overdid it with nuts, dried fruit, and regular fruit today. Everything was still "Whole30" compliant but I definitely did not eat within the template. I don't know why, but I was just feeling overly hungry and snacked all day. Do I need to start my Whole30 over? My belly is particularly bloated now and Im sure I'll feel it some more tomorrow... It'll be a good reminder. The good news is that I've never made it this far being "compliant" ever. I've always given in... so at least I'm still compliant?
Guest
Hopefully a moderator will give you a more complete answer, but here is what I have seen from past slips and restarts. It seems as though the intention is important. More importantly, it seems as though the compliance of the food is really important. Things like soy and dairy necessitate a restart or added days to get the full benefit in the gut and throughout our bodies. If you are avoiding nuts, dried fruits, or fruits for a dietary reason, you may need extra days. On the other hand, your little cheats were more on the psychological (and hormonal) side. If you can fix the need to snack, your hormones will likely fall in line, but I think there is time to do that before your Whole30 ends. If you're not feeling like you have the psychology under control or not feeling the magic, you can always extend beyond 30. It sounds as though your body is giving you the message you need to hear the most right now and will probably continue to give you the feedback you need on this journey. When in doubt, refer to the meal template and add a fourth meal if your body is hungry.
Kirsteen
What Nico said . I wouldn't restart, I would congratulate myself on getting this far and just keep going and count it as a learning experience. Don't you love it when our bodies 'tell us off' for not eating properly . Make sure your meals are satisfying you and when you've finished your W30 if you still feel your sugar/snack/nut dragon isn't completely tamed, you can always add extra days. good luck
dianavuong
Thank you both for your replies. I will go home tonight and throw out all the nuts and dried fruit I have sitting around. They never were an issue before I started Whole30 but it seems like I'm using them as a substitute for other foods that I used to snack heavily on.
