To me, zuc noodles is simply cutting the product in a different shape. Same with cauli rice really. There is NOTHING like pasta in a zuc noodle. Cauli rice is so not like rice.

Paleofying is more trying to re-create something you used to have that was unhealthy..like muffins or cake or pancakes. So, you would have to create a recipe with paleo/W30 ingredients and work pretty hard to make it happen.

Paleofying.... I have a b day party to go to tomorrow, so I made carrot cake muffins. The recipe calls for everything that is approved. Here is my question/ guilt.... I ate it, but feel so completely guilty. Not to mention I got salmon today from chamberlins (a local health food store) later I found out they used molases in the grill marinade.

It's obvious I'm still fighting a very unhealthy realationship with food.... I've been doing sooooo amazing for 16 days but tonight I feel like I went overboard with the carrot cake. I'd like the opinions of others.... Should I start all over again? Since I more so mentally cheated?

Carrot cake muffins are a Whole30 fail. They are a good example of paleofying unhealthy food. The guidelines are pretty clear about that. Whether you restart or continue is up to you. What do you want to get out of a Whole30?

Ashes87, try inasmuch as possible to keep guilt out of the picture. I'm sure that you're a perfectly lovely person and, being a perfectly lovely person, what I would hope and wish for you is an outlook that focuses on the positive gains that come with compliance, and not any wasteful self-vilification. I'm also a newbie (day 28/30), and look at this process of transformation as a marathon, not a sprint. If the program is working for you, then you'll probably end up doing numerous W30's over the course of time. If you surmise that your momentary breech sort of sullied the 30 day experiment, just hit the re-set button and go for it again. That's what I did (I blew it Superbowl Sunday). It ain't no sin. Mr. Denham's question, "what do you want to get out of it?" is the bottom line. If the question is getting answered, you're doing fine.

There's no reason to turn to protein shakes when you can get enough protein from real food. The SAD gives about 6 to 8 times as much protein as we actually need. Don't fall into the hype -protein shakes are unnecessary processed food.
