Does anyone do well on dairy?

I finished my Whole30 earlier in the week but I only started the reintroduction yesterday and it was the first chance I got to get to Lassen's for raw dairy. I bought raw milk, cream, and a raw cheddar. I do low carb high fat and can't remember the last time I had milk so I figured I'd try it first since it's potentially the most problematic.

I had 1.5 cups of raw milk and 2T of the raw cream last night. I probably should have stuck to milk to limit the variables but the raw cream was so freakin' good I couldn't resist. Unfortunately I had the typical lactose intolerance symptoms, nausea being the most noticeable, about an hour later. I've never noticed any symptoms prior to this reintroduction. It could have been me feeling off as I didn't sleep well the night before, woke up esp early, and had a crazy busy day on top of a very busy week at work. I'll give the raw milk a few more tries before writing it off and trying out other forms of dairy.

Does anyone here do well on raw dairy as a regular part of your diet? Is there a difference in the form of dairy you tolerate? Yogurt, cream, and cheese vs milk?

Our reintro of dairy was pretty much as the book described: yogurt in the morning, cheese at lunch, and ice cream with dinner. We did not notice any ill effects that day or for the next two days.

What was interesting was that we did not really find a natural place for the dairy on our plates. The same was true with gluten on day 34. Non-gluten grains are proving to be just as difficult to place as gluten and day 37 is coming soon. Then, legumes? I am still lost about placing those on the plate, too.

I like the template. I want to know how these foods have an impact on me incase I am ever tempted to eat one in a situation where adverse effects would be worth anticipating, but I'm not finding a place for them on my plate anymore.

I like the food templates too and have no interest in ever reintroducing sugar, grains or legumes. I've been off them for over a year and don't plan to go back. High quality dairy is the only thing I'd like to have occasionally. And the rare Paleo-fied dessert treat. From my 2 day reintroduction so far I think milk is out for good. Even raw. I have had terrible digestive issues with it! I had some yogurt though, homemade from run of the mill organic whole milk, and that helped my stomach a lot. I'm going to take the rest of my raw milk and make yogurt with it. I've never made yogurt with raw milk so it will be interesting to see how it works. Next up I'll try raw grass fed cheese and see how I do on that.

The only things that don't give me overt reactions are camel products and homemade raw yogurt (SCD style, cultured for 24 hours to remove any lactose) and the cheese made from said yogurt. I could tolerate a little raw milk but don't bother because it doesn't have as much benefit as yogurt.

What I worry about are the covert reactions, any casein reactions going on under the hood that may be making me sick without my even knowing it. I go back and forth on that a lot, right now I'm back to zero dairy because I'm on the W30 wagon, but after this one I think I'll go back to camel kefir for a while... camel dairy is kind of on my F-Off list.
