KayJay
I know, I know, it's not a food. But it struck me this morning as I was brushing my teeth that my toothpaste was suddenly too sweet. I usually just buy whatever's cheapest (first mistake, lol), so today it was some minty Aim. Any suggestions on what brands or types aren't quite as strong in the flavor department? This was a real eye-opener to me... how far we've dulled our tastebuds so that even something like toothpaste has to be overpowering to be appealing. missmary
Although the whole30 doesn't prohibit use of "normal" toothpaste (you aren't swallowing it, after all), there is one toothpaste I've found that has no sweetener at all: Weleda Salt Toothpaste. I've been using it for a year and I'm just now kind of getting used to it: it's salty, with an aggressive peppermint flavor, if you want to give it a try. 1Maryann
I like natural toothpastes with tea tree oil, but I mostly buy what's on sale. You're right, most of it is obnoxiously sweet.
