Today's the Day

I am starting my first Whole30 today. I have had the book since December, and I have been thinking about it ever since. I am starting it this week, because I am on spring break from my job as a teacher. This will allow me time to experiment with foods and recipes. My goals for these 30 days are to: improve sleep, clear skin, regulate digestive system, nix sugar cravings (which have been horrible lately-chocolate, Girl Scout cookies-you name it), improve energy level. I am also about 5 pounds overweight, so I hope I can get back to my healthy weight range, but that is not the main goal. I am excited to see what this program can do for my allergies as well. I have ran half marathons, and a full marathon in the past, but this will be the biggest challenge I have put my body through. I love the support this website has on it! ~Ashley

Today is Day 3 (Day 4 actually-I did a trial run on Sunday before I officially started), and I actually don't feel too bad. I have had minor headaches at night time (usually when I have a sugary snack), and I haven't been going to sleep early. When I do finally fall asleep, I am out like a rock sleeping so soundly. I have felt satisfied after every meal. This is big to me, because I have a huge appetite all the time. I haven't craved sugar as much as I thought I would. I did Insanity on Day 1 and ran 4 miles on Day 2, and I had the energy to get through my workouts. I have really enjoyed reading this forum and hearing about everyone's experience. I am pleased with the program so far.
