Looking for a good way to drain fat

Hi all,

I'm on day 5 of my Whole30 and things are okay I think. I don't feel much better than before, but I'm still moving forward. I know I am bound to see positive results!

When I started the plan, I already had meat in my freezer (not organic) that I couldn't afford to discard. I'm a full-time college student, so I have a VERY strict budget. Instead, I've been trying to make sure I drain as much of the fat as possible before I eat. Does anyone know of an effective way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

What kind of meat?

My mom always boils fatty ground meats. I do the same with sliced, cooked sausages. Other meats can be grilled, I think, to let the fat drain off. You can also just drain it onto paper towels. I find that paper towels in a collander are easiest to manage. And, there is that bulb suction tool that you can use to suck the melted fat out. I used to use that all the time. With soups and things, you can cook ahead and chill, The fat will often float to the top and become solid and you can skim it off.
