Andrea Williams
I'm on day 20. I feel pretty great, diet wise. BUT I started my period today (TWO DAYS EARLY!) and it's terrible. I feel like puking, breaking in half, and like diarrhea-ing all at the same time. Sometimes I have bad periods, but I am typically able to make the nausea go away with ice cream (I don't know, it just always helped.) I don't want ice cream, I have ZERO cravings but I feel like I'm going to die. I started reading other period posts on here, and then I started freaking out about birth control. I don't want hormones. I don't want an IUD. I don't want to use a sponge or anything like that. My long term boyfriend and I broke up in January, and it hasn't been an issue since. So, I'm sitting here wondering what if the next guy doesn't want to use condoms? What if I'm single for the rest of my life. What if my boobs SHRINK? I'm sure this isn't diet related, but it is the first time in a long time that I can't use sugar to drown the worry. I think I'm just looking for some sympathy. Link to comment
Krista Billows Rodriguez
You'll get plenty of sympathy here! Eating right does influence your hormones so this could be a result of the clean diet, not that every cycle after this point will be horrid, but there might be a few months of flux before you settle back into a healthy pattern. Mine has changed bit by bit from month to month since my jan W30, I think my body is still adapting to my new healthy diet. This month's cycle went longer than usual but pain was less than usual-emotions seemed stronger than usual. Ah, the joys of being a woman. Will heat help? I found a hot water bottle or heating pad to be my best friend. A nice hot bath with Epsom salts is a close second. I also find myself increasing my starchy carbs, like sweet potato, during the days leading up and the first few days. I'm more tired so I make an extra effort to get to bed on time. Just finding whatever way I can to increase my self care helps. Hope this passes quickly for you! Link to comment
Carlaccini
Hi Andrea, Take a deep breath. These things running through your mind - kind of normal. Try to include some extra starchy carb & protein in your next meal. We (women) have a tendency to need some extra food during period time. If it makes you feel any better my hormones are running amuk as well. My period was 8 days early!(?) I had a 4 day migraine to partner along with said period (this includes nausea, and sensitivities to light and sound) and it was esspecially heavy and long. I was happy when it was over. I pretty much chalking it up to spring - it generally messes up with my hormones pretty bad. As my other whole 30's were fantastic so I know this way of eating does work. So be patient - it will pass. "So, I'm sitting here wondering what if the next guy doesn't want to use condoms? What if I'm single for the rest of my life. What if my boobs SHRINK? In terms if your questions here's my 2 cents: 1) Then he isn't worth your time 2) If you cannot be happy alone with yourself then you shouldn't worry about these things 3) Do you really believe that this will happen? - unless you have a boob reduction scheduled that we don't know about! Keep calm and Whole 30 on! Link to comment
sweetheartyparty
I feel your pain. I'm on day 18 and my tom started yesterday and so far I feel awful. I have bad cramps, headachey and I'm really bloated. I would love some sweets but i've not come this far just to give up now. SonyaT
I'm on day seventeen and I got my friend on day 10. And it was a doozey!!! Part of the entire reason I'm doing all this is to get my hormones on track so I knew it would probably be a roller coaster ride. BUT I really tried to look on the bright side of this one and think that making it through the beginning of the Whole30 with PMS means that we are pretty much super stars. Am I right?? And Carlacinni is right. Don't compromise for any man. There are too many good ones out there to change who you are for someone else. You've got this! Link to comment

lexgem
I'm sure yours is over by now but I feel the same. I'm on day 8 of W30 and I feel like I should just curl up and die. I usually do feel this way, I guess I was hoping the whole30 would help, but not this time. Maybe next time will be better. I hope. Link to comment
