Starting April 8th! Anyone want to join me?

Hi Everyone! A friend of mine passed along the whole30 to me, and I'm finally going to start and stick to it! I made it a week before, but then struggled due to a new job and lots of work meetings at restaurants, coupled with lingering issues from disordered eating.

I am super excited to be starting, and hoping others may join me or offer support along the way! When I stuck to it, I felt GREAT, so I no excuses this time!

Thanks!!

I'm in! Today was day 3 for me, but I fell back into my bad habit of overeating walnuts/macadamias. I decided that since those foods have a negative psychological impact on me, I will start my whole30 over and eliminate all nuts since they cause cravings for me. I have been mostly paleo/primal for the last 2 months, but I struggle with out of control cravings, especially for sweets. I am doing whole30 so I can overcome my cravings. Even though I'm bumbed about having to start over, I am taking this as a learning experience. Now I understand that nuts are a trigger food for me. I am looking forward to starting fresh tomorrow. Best of luck with your whole30!

I started my whole30 today and made it through my whole day sticking to plan. I learned about the whole30 while doing research on Megnesium. I am looking forward to getting through the 30 days and feeling better on the other side!

I started again today. I can't seem to get it together this time around. Finished my first W30 in mid March. Have had too many "day 1's". Looking forward to a day two, three....thirty maybe even forty-five! Got through breakfast and have a plan for lunch and dinner. Lets kick these cravings to the curb!

I too just started today. I read the book today- and decided to start NOW- not the 100 tomorrows I've had in the past. Is there anyone who has done it and had success? I keep reading posts of people who have fallen off or broken down and got back to dairy or sugar. Please, an encouraging story would be great! Good luck to all the 1st day eaters! Here's to a healthier all of us!

Hi Everyone....I'm on a mission to clear my skin....I dont have bad acne but blemishes and small bumps sometimes they are sore and red. for the most part I dont eat dairy regularly but I can't say no to sugar I'm a chocolate lover! I was planning to do an elimination diet starting April 1st just so I can see what foods are causing my breakouts but let's just say I kept falling off the wagon.

I heard about the Paleo diet about two years ago and was semi-paleo, having more cheat days than I should have mainly because I don't like to cook.

I would love to start the Whole30 because it allows a few more things to eat than my elimination diet did. Although I did have rice today...:-/

I'm hoping this helps me see results in my skin if I stick to if consistently to the T....I also hope that I do not lose weight....lord knows I can't afford that....I'm 5'4 115-120lbs...

anyhoo good luck everyone....:-)

So...how's everyone doing so far? It's day 2 for me. Yesterday was a stuggle because I was really craving sweets, but so far, today has been a breeze! I started off groggy this morning, but black iced tea came to the rescue. I had a great workout and I'm feeling pretty good!

HI Everyone! i am doing good ...On Day 3! I have really enjoyed the food and recipes i have been trying out....and so far havent had cravings....

but yesterday i felt really lethargic at the gym....i am tired today too even though i went to bed early last night...i read this is normal...i woke up this morning completely drenched in sweat....guess toxins removing themselves...

i just ate a delicious Sweet potato, i microwaved it for 8 minutes in the bag it came in, then i cut it up, (kinda mashed with the skin) sprayed it with olive oil , used salt and alittle nutmeg! it was fantastic!! and i had two hardboiled eggs...YUM!!!!

Day 3 and I'm not doing so great. Took myself off caffeine also because I drank my tea full of artificial sweetners. Tried to wean it slowly over the weekend but have had a raging headache since last night. Arrrgghhhh! Any suggestions? Hope everyone is doing ok. They say Day 3 is rough so let's hang in there!

Hi all- I did loose Paleo for 30 days but didn't see any weight loss (which is 1/2 of my primary reason for doing this)... I am now on day 3 of Whole30... I am hoping to kick the sugar cravings...

When I did the last 30 day challenge I did not give up my cream and sugar in coffee... this time around I am... it's been tough, but black coffee is an acquired taste... today with the weather so warm, I had iced coffee instead :)

glad to be here!

Hi all, I started on April 8th too! I'm a first-timer. I'm doing it to be healthier, "in general". I especially want to conquer my cravings and 'sugar addiction'. I'm also eating meat for the first time after a bizillion years, so that's another mental thing I'm dealing with on top of it all. Oh yeah, and I want to lose the 20 pounds I gained since we moved to Munich and get back into my fitness routine (too much bread and fabulous European chocolate!!). These forums are great....we can do it!

Thanks for the encouragement! Still headache going on but otherwise, doing well. Horray for those of you who started again! I love the weight loss that hopefully will happen but I keep telling myself its for the health not the weight loss. But weight loss = healthier me, too. Keep going strong everyone!

Sarah E - I started back on meat also for the first time in over a year (not a bizillion years though :). That's been a mental struggle for me, too. And I read on Paleo blogs that the China Study (Forks Over Knives) is bunk, then I read on the ReBoot Juicer blogs that meat is bad so I really wonder what is truth. So what meat I've added so far is just Organic Turkey, and I just bought grass fed beef but haven't added it yet. Eggs and fish have been my protein so far, but it's only day 4. And my husband doesn't want to add meat back in - he isn't doing this. Which is funny because it took some convincing to get him to be vegetarian. Comments?
