Tavia
I'm worried about setting myself back. My whole30 ends June 30 and my birthday is July 3. In the last 6 months, I have lost 32 pounds, looking and feeling great, not craving sugar anymore... but the desire for it is not completely gone. I have no doubt I can straighten up after my birthday, but I don't want to fight off the cravings for days after. Ah! Idk. Should I indulge on my birthday? Derval
Personally I so would! A fancy dinner that would worth it and some fine wine. But not scarfing ice-cream out of the tub
Michael K
Maybe have fun experimenting with something healthy and sweet from the millions of paleo cookbooks that are coming out. Happy birthday!
Johnny M
I think you're going to feel it if you do. I'd make some allowances but maybe not throw everything you've worked for out the window! If I drink while not on a whole30 i try to stick to wine or tequila with fresh squeezed lime and seltzer. And get some steak and veggies and maybe some sorbet for dessert. I recently went to Mortons Steakhouse and splurged on a non-whole30 meal that all in all wasn't bad - steak, creamed spinach (has cream and I think they make a roux with flour), and for dessert berries with fresh whipped cream. befabdaily
How about have one thing that you really want, and keep the rest clean? Like have a couple of glasses of champagne. Or one piece of cake that you know is totally worth it. Then, the next day, back in the saddle?
