little_muffin
What word would you use to describe what we do? I have friends who say; I am vegetarian I am vegan What would you say? I am paleo or something else?

little_muffin
I was only asking because I'm having a few problems with my daughters school & my hubby said that when people define themselves as vegetarian, noone bats an eyelid, but you mention that you don't eat gluten, dairy or sugar and you are crazy enough to be looked at like you have 3 heads

Susan W
I eat meat, eggs and vegetables...and a whole bunch of all of them.
little_muffin
I completely agree with all the 'definitions' you give but when I say to people that I eat real food; to them it meas nothing, bread is real food to the non paleo community so I then have to go on a 5 minute do & don't eat. I need to rethink my elevator pitch!

GLC1968
I usually just say I focus on veggies, fruits and high quality meat...and leave it at that. People don't argue if you start with the veggie part (if you start with meat, somehow that's all they hear!) and by mentioning fruit, they don't assume Atkins. Then, if I have to be more clear, I'll elaborate with the no grains, legumes, dairy, soy or sugar. Of course, then they tell me that fruit is sugar so clearly I'm not very good at my 'diet'...but that's getting into a whole different conversation! Janine Costanzo
I usually use the "meat and veggies" description too, if I want to be quick about it. Though there's a surprising number of people who ask if I can eat eggs because they for some reason consider eggs a dairy product. Maybe because eggs and dairy are usually together in the grocery store?
