intuitivemama
I am sooo close to the end of this, and with my husband continuing on AIP, I plan on sticking close to Whole30 guidelines for the majority of my eating, but DEAR GOD. I am used to craving fruit when I am ill, and have always attributed it to my body wanting to dose up on a bioavailable supply of vitamin C, and so have never limited myself. Often, when I am close to coming down with something, I will find myself eating 3 large navel oranges in one day. But here I am, only supposed to be having 1-2 pieces a day and wanting to shove 5 oranges, 2 bananas and 3 apples in my face all right now. I have already had a 1/2 banana and 1/4 apple with breakfast. I generally have had 1 piece of fruit a day, or sometimes none, throughout my Whole30, so this isn't something I've been battling all along. My breakfast was the same as normal today: 2 breakfast sausages, 2 eggs, spinach, mushrooms and sweet potato, 2 cups decaf coffee with cinnamon. I had an egg yolk about 60 minutes ago in preparation to work out...which seems to not be happening after all, because my darling toddler won't nap. But lunch will be leftover turkey, cabbage with bacon crumbled, butternut squash soup and some raw veggies. Help? Can someone just tell me it's okay to eat all this fruit? Because I'm sick and I need it? (I know, I know, yeah right...)
Moderators Tom Denham Posted April 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2013 Try eating 3 oranges per day for a few days and see if you start feeling better.

golden
It's citrus season anyway. Your body and Mother Nature are both suggesting it.
