sbhtexas
Hello, I am new to the whole 30, just 3 days in. I am doing ok with meals and post workout meals, etc. for my training but I have a race in just over a week and would love ideas for pre- race meals. It starts at 6 am so I would prefer something easy I don't have to cook. Thanks so much.
JimS
I did my second half marathon a few weeks ago, and I had to show up at 6 AM for registration. I heated up leftover meat and scrambled a few eggs... I was finished cooking in the time it took me to brew a few cups of drip coffee. I did eat some more starchy carbs like sweet potatoes and bananas the few days prior to top off glycogen. Post-race, I just drank some water, went home and ate my next meal. Ultimately I didn't adjust my fueling pre and post-race very much.
Megan Claydon
This is what worked for me... Pre race: hard boiled egg (make and peel the night before), small handful of nuts, coffee During: half a banana and water Post: HUGE sweet potato and a steak Start experimenting NOW with this. Everyone is different, but generally speaking pre race should be protein + some fat. Post race should be protein + starchy carb.
