aliciadunn
Well the weather in DC is nice and I left all of the windows in my apartment open for fresh air today instead of air conditioning. I keep my coconut oil in a closed cupboard in the kitchen but I guess the apartment temperature is in the high 70s (not hot, but not exactly cool). I went to use my coconut oil tonight and when I opened it, the entire jar was liquid. Does that mean it is bad? Should I be throwing this away and buying a new one? (sigh)
kb0426
Not at all! It should still be fine.
LRM
The coconut oil I bought a few weeks ago also liquefied during the warm weather of the last few days. It's cooler today so it's starting to solidify again. Unless it's past the expiration date, or lingering in the cabinet for a very long time, I wouldn't throw it out. It's fine, IMO. 1Maryann
I live in the southern tip of Florida. My coconut oil is always liquid, except for a few days in the winter when the weather gets below 50.
aliciadunn
Oh that's great. It's only a month old, so I'm keeping it then. Thanks for the replies!
senews
Alicia, the same thing happened to me! Good to know that this nice weather doesn't mean throwing away my coconut oil.
Renee Lee
Hah, yeah. it's totally fine! The form it's in is temp dependent, not anything else. drizzle some over some cool berries next time it's liquid. You will not regret it.
