Alternative fuel source to Sweet Potatoes???

I can't help it, I just don't like Sweet Potatoes (I've tried them 4 different ways!). But as I read through the forum for athletes I find it mentioned so often as the 'go to' fuel source (along with a protein of course). I am 1/2 way through my first whole30 & I miss the energy I had for running before I started. I find myself thinking of cheating just so I can enjoy a good run!!! Any suggestions on an alternate fuel source would be greatly appreciated!!!
