krmagdc
I've never tried olives before but would like to. Is there any specific kind that might be best to start with? Or any recipes involving them that might make them easier to like? I'm pretty picky but trying to get over it!
jodea
I'd try green olives first, as they're a bit less bitter, and get them packed in olive oil. They taste really good in a nice fishy salad - mackerel or tuna. They'd be good in a Mediterranean-style chicken stew, too. I didn't like olives when I was younger- they are an acquired taste I think - but love them now. Which is helpful as I'm Greek!
MelliebuStacey
Never tried olives? Like EVER? So many different and delicious ones out there--I am partial to Kalamata, and garlic stuffed green olives. Your best bet is to hit up the local supermarket (bonus points for farmer's markets) and get a selection to sample. Our markets here typically have a self-serve olive bar where you're charged by weight--this would be a great way to start
