FischerRo
Gave up sugar earlier this year and real cream and have been substituting with Coffeemate. Thought I had read something about this but can't find it.
Maycat
No, not Coffeemate. Here are the ingredients for the dry version: INGREDIENTS: CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, VEGETABLE OIL (PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED COCONUT OR PALM KERNEL, HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN), SODIUM CASEINATE (A MILK DERIVATIVE)**, AND LESS THAN 2% OF DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE (MODERATES COFFEE ACIDITY), MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES (PREVENTS OIL SEPARATION), SODIUM ALUMINOSILICATE, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, ANNATTO COLOR. With the Whole30 you want to eat only whole and natural foods. This franken-food has soy, phosphates, artificial flavors and colors. I think that real cream is vastly superior to all the chemicals in Coffeemate, but since cream is not on the Whole30, maybe try full-fat coconut milk. Make sure it is the stuff in the can that lists its ingredients as coconut and water. Even better, try your coffee black. On the Whole30, you will be surprised how quickly your tastebuds gets used to black coffee. One of the points of Whole30 is not to drink your calories. Personally, I like it black, but my stomach can't handle black coffee. I heard a lot of things about bulletproof coffee, but haven't tried it yet.
