baker-in-exile
Usually I make a pot of coffee in the morning and fill up my travel mug with coffee plus coconut milk/cream. On a normal day I'll drink 1-2 12oz cups. But it's over the course of the whole day. I'm wondering if this counts as snacking under the w30 protocol. What about sipping tea when the urge to snack strikes? Is that off limits too?
Suzy
My 2 cents is that if it has coconut milk in it, it's like a snack in nature because it's providing you with that hunger-satiating fat. It helps to keep you satisfied, but you're not really giving yourself the opportunity to be satiated from a meal and let yourself digest without pouring more coffee and coconut milk in. Give yourself the opportunity to feel satisfied, then to feel hungry and ready for your meals. Maybe try cutting it down a bit but not stopping totally? Are you eating enough, otherwise? I think plain tea is fine throughout the day, but if you get truly hungry, make sure to eat a meal.
JJB
Unsweetened tea is a great any time/all the time; I think most just suggest you stick to caffeine-free later in the day.
Robin Strathdee
I'm okay with the coffee as long as a) you aren't missing meals/hunger cues and 2) it doesn't interfere with your sleep.
