thanks slw600. I found the recipie and tried it. I am loving the taste and hoping when the family comes in from working on chicken pen that they will love it.It is so cold here. It is crazy for it to be May here in arkansas and being in the 40's. I have never seen it happen.

THanks again

I love watching the chickens. they are so comical. I am very blessed. My dh loves to work in the garden. So soon we will have fresh veggies from the garden if this cold weather doesn't kill my plants. I am raising out some broilers for my freezer. and I have a neighbor whom gives me grass fed beef that he raises so i have nothing to complain about.

I've tried Well Fed's Chocolate Chili and as delicious as it was, I preferred the chili from Multiply Delicious. http://www.multiplydelicious.com/thefood/2012/12/paleo-veggie-beef-chili/

I liked the addition of veggies. I found that this recipe did need more salt than it called for but once I salted to taste, it was delicious. I also added some more pepper because I enjoy spicy foods.

I make this recipe:

with these modifications:

1. I make my own taco seasoning ( using the instructions at: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/taco-seasoning-i/ ) instead of the packaged kind.

2. In place of the beans, I throw in a bag of frozen chopped broccoli about 15 minutes or so before it's done. If done right, it does a pretty good job of replacing the beans in terms of texture and thickness. And now there's veggies in the chili! :)

I made the Chocolate Chili from Well Fed last night using ground bison. It turned out great! I even managed to find a couple of cans of compliant fire-roasted tomatoes (fire-roasted seem to be difficult to find usually) which is what I think really helped add to the flavour (well that, and the cocoa!). I served a couple of scoops on topped off some mashed cauliflower and topped it with avocado to make a proper, template-friendly dinner!
