Laketon79
Never made it before and I want to try it because I don't really like avocados, but hoping that guac will be better. What's your best recipe?
Jinkse21
I love this recipe and it is so easy! 5 Ripe Avocados Juice of 1-2 Limes Handful Fresh Cilantro, chopped 1/2 small Red Onion, diced small 2 plum Tomatoes, seeded and finely diced 1 Jalapeno, seeded and finely diced (optional) Few pinches of Salt or to taste Pepper to taste Mash avocado to desired consistency with juice of 1/2 lime Add remaining ingredients and gently mix so the guacamole stays a little chunky (unless you want it really smooth)
Beets
Love this Rick Bayless three-in-one recipe. Basic: avocado, garlic, salt. Intermediate: add cilantro, lime. Advanced: add hot chili peppers, onion, tomato. http://www.foodandwi...by-or-luxurious IMO simple is best when it comes to guac. I usually use avo, lime, salt, garlic and cilantro. I wing it and taste it and YUM. Key: ripe avocado. It will ripen quickly on a window sill, but if it's not ripe it won't mash.
scrapstitching
I squish up a ripe avocado and add either pico, tomatoes, or salsa - whatever I'm in the mood for. I sometimes use lime or lemon juice. Keep it simple. I am not a hot spice person, so I don't add the hot peppers
Javagal78
Epicure has a great spice mix to add flavour, too!
angekfire
I made some guac last night but it wasn't quite ripe I just blended it all in a food processor and it turned out well enough, definitely more smooth and not so chunky. I am not a huge fan of avocado on it's own, but I do like guacamole.
kb0426
I love this recipe and it is so easy! 5 Ripe Avocados Juice of 1-2 Limes Handful Fresh Cilantro, chopped 1/2 small Red Onion, diced small 2 plum Tomatoes, seeded and finely diced 1 Jalapeno, seeded and finely diced (optional) Few pinches of Salt or to taste Pepper to taste Mash avocado to desired consistency with juice of 1/2 lime Add remaining ingredients and gently mix so the guacamole stays a little chunky (unless you want it really smooth) This is my favorite recipe when I have time. Other times, it is just avocado, lime juice, salt and maybe a hit of garlic powder. Mash it all up and enjoy!
bi0nicw0man
If I'm in a hurry and my avocado is ripe I just make what I call 'Guac Mash'... 1 ripe avocado Juice of one lime salt pepper sprinkle of cumin Mash together with a fork. Viola! If I have more time, this is my favourite version to make... 2-3 ripe avocados, cubed and coarsely mashed (I like to mash 2, and leave one more chunky) 1 large tomato, diced 1/4 large red onion, diced small 1/2 jalepeno pepper, seeded and diced small juice of two limes lots of salt pepper cumin handful of cilantro, coarsely chopped Stir together with a fork. Let stand at least 30 minutes before eating (up to a couple of hours in the fridge).
