Maureen Boyle
I'm going to pub trivia Wednesday night. I could bring food but I don't want to be a bad customer. I already won't be ordering drinks, so I'd like to order food. The only thing possibly okay on the menu, apart from a burger with a LOT of special requests or a dry green salad, is corned beef and cabbage. Or is it? I'm not sure. I've seen other pages say it's okay, but I think corned beef is brined with sugar. Assuming it's okay, I have a follow up question. Osbviously, I wouldn't eat the potatoes. Having them on the plate is okay though, since potato's only crime is being a bad habit trigger, right?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted May 7, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 7, 2013 Most brines include sugar, so I would be suspicious of corned beef. Potatoes on your plate may tempt you, but won't jump up and infect you or anything.
