Going to see a movie...

Went to see Iron Man 3 last night, it was good, I do like watching Robert Downey Jnr and I read my fair share of comics as a child. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be to miss the popcorn or the choc-top ice-cream, I did take a container of red grapes with me though. Another example of planning ahead to help break old routines and eating habits... Does anyone else have any ideas to help break old habits like this?

I just saw Iron Man 3 on Sat. and I loved it! I love all of the comic book movies!

I just took a bottle of water with me since I went to a 10:45am show and I made sure to eat a big enough breakfast to hold me over until lunch after the movie. Taking grapes is a great idea! I have taken a small bag of mixed nuts before so I still had that feeling of putting my hand in a bag. On Saturday, I walked past the popcorn and took a big whiff...it smelled so good and I could almost feel that fake butter taste in my mouth!

I take macadamia nuts. I've never been as big a fan of movie popcorn as we're all supposed to be though. So eating macadamia nuts makes me feel very luxurious and indulgent, because I actually really like them.

Grapes, nuts, apple slices, a container of non-messy veggies (snap peas, carrots, radish pieces, etc.), beef jerky...all yummy movie snacks. Just curious, are you trying to break the habit of eating while watching a movie entirely? This is challenging for me, too. I wonder if you could bring something to do with your hands that didn't require looking at it or concentrating on it. Just a tactile thing, like a worry stone or something? I think I will try that next time. Ideally, I won't be hungry anyway, so it's just a re-direct of my energy. :)

I saw Iron Man 3 opening weekend. Saw the afternoon matinee, and just brought a bottle of water. A couple sat down next to us with poutine (Canadian: fries, gravy & cheese), and the people on either side of us had popcorn too. The smell of popcorn was tough but we pulled through.
