Hello fellow Whole30-ers!

My name is Gillan. I started Whole30 on Jan. 6. I had been thinking about the paleo "diet" on and off for the last two years. I had asked around on Facebook and someone I went to high school recommended Whole30. I started doing research and decided I needed to give it ago.

I am allergic to corn, eggs, bananas, cantaloupe, peaches, ginger, crab, lobster, oats and mushrooms. I also have asthma and currently take a maintenance inhaler daily, neubalizer treatment as needed, emergency inhaler and a daily pill.

Since I have started, I have been able to cut back on ALL of my medicines for allergies and asthma. I was even able to work out at the gym yesterday without puffing on the emergency inhaler first. The only thing I can say is that sometimes I get the worst cravings for dark chocolate or red wine. Hopefully those will pass.

Today, seemed to be the worst day so far. I wanted to just punch everyone in the face that smiled at me. Oops.

Hey Gillian! Isn't it awesome to see the changes that happen just within the first few days of eating clean, healthy, REAL food?! I started on January 2 and have seen so many overall improvements in the way I feel...more focus and energy during the day, more motivation and desire to do things than I've had in a long time, getting better sleep. My worst craving by far is popcorn, which is my favorite snack. A large part of those cravings is just out of habit, not need. I use the craving as an excuse to drink more water (because I don't drink enough of it) and remind myself why I'm doing this challenge and use it as additional fuel to push me through. Keep pushing; there are so many resources out there for information and support! If you'd like to check out my challenge blog, feel free to do so!

Thank you Sophie for your support! I will have to check out your blog when I get a chance. If you know anyone with food allergies or if you are just interested in following, I have an allergy community page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/neg.reactions) or my blog as well (http://negativereaction.wordpress.com/).
