CallieMonster
Hi all! I'm Callie and today is my Day 1 on the Whole 30. I'll be doing this mostly on my own at home. My husband, while supportive, has already said he's not giving anything up but he'll eat whatever I cook. I think my biggest challenge will be not giving in to emotional eating. I've been dealing with depression and I've always comforted myself with food, usually a cheeseburger and milkshake. One of my goals for the Whole30 is to develop a healthier relationship with food since I'm having to make better food choices for the next 30 days. momof2osaurus
Hi Callie! Today is my first day too! One thing that might help you push through the need for food comfort - my depression and anxiety problems get a LOT better when I clean up my diet. It's a long story, but basically I realized that gluten acts as a mild sedative for me, brain fog and all. So when my anxiety flared up, I was reaching for things with gluten in them as a kind of self-medication. Hopefully things will be easier for you once you get going! Lacey Crenshaw
GL on your Whole30 and welcome. I found that completed a Whole30 did change my emotional eating and made me more aware of it. You will feel so much better.
