Lora
I am planning to begin the Whole30 program tomorrow or Tuesday, but just realized I have one little issue. My gut doctor has me on a product to help heal my IBS that I have to take one to two times a day. It has 40 mg of stevia in each serving. How badly will that affect my final results? Melissa Urban
Lorahart, that won't affect your program's results at all. You're not taking your IBS medication to satisfy your sugar cravings - and while I've read some studies that suggests some artificial sweeteners may disrupt gut flora and fauna, the results are not conclusive, and Stevia was not implicated in that process (only Splenda). So follow doctor's orders and start your Whole30 as planned - you won't have any negative consequences. Best, Melissa
Lora
Thank you! Tomorrow being a holiday, I have decided to start on Tuesday. I have been doing Paleo for about 5 months, so this shouldn't be that hard. I am hoping it will help my gut to heal. BTW, we share the same last name. I don't see it very often.
